In the interest of time and efficiency, this blog will, from this point onward be published in a succinct and concise manner. Baby smiles - check. Baby lifts head - check. Baby turns -check. Oooh, Baby turns the other way- check! Very business like, eh?

Who am I kidding? The last post was 3 months ago, and the 3 months have been anything BUT business-like!

Progressing from his Mao-sy hair (snort to all those who stared & pointed), Isaac made his 1st grown-up trip to the barber. Strangely enough, he loved the barber he'd never met before, and flashed his best smile for the tall, imposing Malay man with a deep, manly voice. Added fave was the towel Isaac had draped around his little neck, wow, grown-up treatment even at this young age!

In keeping with his many Firsts, Isaac's bright orange training float also made its 1st appearance in the pool, bundled with Isaac in it of course. Sorry to disappoint any Ian Thorpe hopefuls out there - Isaac wasn't much of an eager beaver in his new-found watery surroundings and displayed a stoney, lost expression for the better part of the excursion. Aunty Wendy, Von, & Gi were most disappointed! Needless to say our bikinis, suntan lotion, and shades hardly got wet!

Ooh, who could leave out Baby's 1st taste of solids? Those who know Isaac well enough can already guess that food is definitely his forte. No worries on the parents' part with regard to food acceptance. YUMMS!

Hope this whirlwind entry gives Boo's fans a snapshot of his antics during the past 3months, and lets mummy off the hook for being a lacklustre Blogger. In the coming months when Isaac learns to crawl, stand, and walk, I already know I'll be begging for a rewind into the life of the little toddler that was once a sausage in my arms.

Mao vs Botero

In a case of East vs West, Jekyll vs Hyde, Isaac vs Xuanzhi, the little one finds himself in another peculiar association. By virtue of a haircut and 3-month-old bulbous cheeks, we now have sufficient evidence to present the case of "Mao vs Botero". The pictures are self-explanatory.

Older & Wiser

Amidst a flurry of preparations: 400 balloons + helium tank, 70 cupcakes, 140 Ang Ku Kuehs, and 140 red eggs - darling Isaac turns 1 month.

The day starts out terribly: Mommy is NOT PLEASED that the caterer came 1 1/2 hours late to set up food! Tsk... Thankfully all's well that ends well, the party went on fine and bub was able to soak up the limelight (his fave)

Isaac can't wait for his 1 year old birthday when he will get a bouncy castle + magician + 800 balloons, altho his daddy thinks otherwise.

Special Thanks must be said to: Aunty Wendy, Uncle BC, Aunty DN, Aunty Von, Aunty Ness, & Aunty Rachoo. Ah, it was fun while it lasted! ....helium tank, paper cutter, UHU glue sticks and all.

Billy Don't Be a Hero!

We didn't get to grab The Bag and speed off, like in the movies. In an anti-climatic fashion, I went for a routine check-up on Thursday 11th Oct and the gynae suggested that labour be induced as the amniotic fluid looked a tad murky. So I was admitted into Thomson Medical Centre and on Friday 12th Oct, Isaac opened his tiny eyes for his first glimpse into our world.

If the words "Billy, don't be a hero" never made any sense before, they certainly do now. Labour pains lived up to my expectations and I promptly asked for the much-lauded epidural 1/3 into the 9 hour journey. Shivering, vomiting, & pushing, I kept a watchful eye on the clock and told myself it was all worth it. Dad-to-be-Ben pottered around with the camera taking pics of me at my most unglamorous, as well as that of medical equipment. (Don't ask me why?)

I was happiest when the stirrups appeared and I knew I would see my baby soon.

And we love him so.

38 weeks & counting....

So Dr. Beh tells me that statistically, most babies arrive in their 38th -39th week. Which means, I could very well be carted off into the labour ward right after posting this entry.

Yes! the timing's about right. Baby's clothes are washed, diapers & nappies are out in full force, & cot is ready (albeit being a temporary stash for a bevy of items- labtop bag, cookbook, ben's footrest, just to name a few). Plus the swollen feet, calves, and stumpy toes just cannot get any worse.

So the bag is packed and ready to go, we're all excited, and we love our new little baby-boo so so much already.

One more tiny detail though - his name.
